It is required that our members also participate in one other Registered Student Organization on campus. There are members in everything from political organizations and intramural sports, to skeet shooting and theater groups.

This is perhaps the most frequently asked question anyone asks about the Greek system. Many people think that you have to pay a lot of money just to hang out with certain elite people, but that’s not true. You don’t have to be Greek to be our friend. The dues that you pay go towards the events we hold, such as rush, socials with sororities, t-shirts, etc. We feel that it is easier to have a set fee for the entire semester than to go around and “pass the hat” every time that money is needed.

The possibilities are endless. However, you get what you put in. The more you participate, the more rewarding the experience.

Absolutely not. Hazing goes against everything our fraternity stands for. It’s forbidden in our International bylaws and is prohibited by the university and the State of Illinois classifies hazing as a Class X Felony.

In honor of our brother Ronald Regan, each chapter donates $2000 to the Alzheimer’s Foundation every year. Also, ten community service hours are expected of each member per semester.

They vary from semester to semester, but are usually around $400 per semester. (Which happen to be one of the most inexpensive of all the fraternities on campus.) These dues go towards paying for insurance, and funding our social and community service events.

There are no dues your first semester as TKE. There is however, an $81 pledge fee and a $220 membership fee associated with your first semester. Our chapter recieves none of these fees, they go directly to international to pay for the cost of running a international fraternity.

We are leasing the house at 504 S University. Our LLC (Limited Liability Corporation) is formed and accepting investments to be able to build a more traditional fraternity house in the future.
