Sidney San elected 2008 TKE Sweetheart

Miss Sidney San has been elected 2008 TKE Sweetheart by the Beta Chi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
Miss San’s superior achievement in all areas of college life, including academics, community involvement and service, school spirit, and a genuine love for the Fraters of Tau Kappa Epsilon propelled her to this high honor.
Even before her affiliation as a sister of Sigma Kappa at SIUC, she was very involved encouraging the success of the Beta Chi Chapter, and has had a significant hand in supporting our successive top ten placements in Recruitment, and our 2007 Top TKE Chapter Award.
Her high scholastic scholarship is representative of what all the brothers of the Beta Chi Chapter strive to achieve. Making the Dean’s list and being admitted to the Golden Key Honor Society are merely two pieces of evidence that Sidney could point to with pride. Her work in the community, including (but not limited to) the Beautify Southern Illinois program and her work at nursing homes throughout the Southern Illinois’ cities of Carbondale and Herrin is undertaken not through a sense of obligation to her sorority, but through a sense of desire to help her fellow human beings, and her desire to make the world a better place for everyone.
In these instances and more, Miss San has always been and continues to be a responsible and intelligent student, campus leader and a fine representative of Southern Illinois University. She is beloved by the Beta Chi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
No other girl could be so fair, so loyal and so true.
